Wakanda is the home and kingdom of King T'Challa.

The Marvel Universe has the distinction of having not one, but two of the greatest Black superheroes in all of comicdom. Fittingly, they are the co-rulers of Wakanda. The X-Men's Storm, a mutant with the power to control the weather is T'Challa's queen. King T'Challa is the proud and wise monarch of the Marvel Universes' technologically advanced, super wealthy fictious African nation of Wakanda. The Black Panther was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and he was introduced in the Fantastic Four #52 in 1966.
In Wakanda, human-animal interaction is spiritual and essential to the supernatural way of life. There are four animal based cults whose religions evolve around the power and attributes of the animals they revere.
The title of Black Panther is a combination of leadership roles, such as King, General and Pope all rolled into one. There is a rare herb shaped leaf that enhances the power of Wakanda's ruler to superhuman levels.
